“It shall be unlawful for any person within the Town to use or operate any radio receiving set, musical instrument, phonograph, television set, or other machine or device for the production or reproduction of sound in such a manner as to disturb the peace, quiet, and comfort of neighboring residents or any reasonable person of normal sensitiveness residing in the area. The operation of any such set, instrument, television, phonograph, machine or. device at any time in such a manner as to be plainly audible at either the property line from which the sound emanates or 25 feet from a vehicle on public rights-of-ways is a violation of this section.”

Update:  The Town Council met to canvas the votes of the June 7 Municipal Election.  As a result, four provisional ballots were added to the tally.  The declared results are as follows:

Jim Auxer-148 votes, Lori Robertson-150 votes, Jenny Haynes-107 votes, Marty Amerikaner-120 votes, Chris Stroech-109 votes, Cheryl Roberts-126 votes, Leah Rampy-124 votes and James Vigil-61 votes.  The Town Council will reconvene on  June 15 at 10:00 a.m. at which time the results will be certified.

The Corporation of Shepherdstown is accepting applications to fill the full-time position of Receptionist at Town Hall. Work hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some extra coverage when required.  Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and submit to a background check. Shepherdstown Police Department Awarded Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for Critical Lifesaving Equipment

(Shepherdstown, W. Va.)– As first responders continue to serve the Eastern Panhandle, it’s important that the Shepherdstown Police Department remains properly equipped to handle all emergencies. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation recognized our need for new lifesaving equipment and recently awarded us a $10,642 grant to purchase six automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

The new AEDs are portable, lifesaving devices which diagnose and treat people experiencing cardiac arrest and will ultimately improve the lifesaving capabilities of our first responders when called into action.

“We are thankful to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Martinsburg for providing us with this invaluable funding,” said Jim Auxer, Mayor “The added benefit of having the very best equipment on hand means everything because in an emergency, every second counts.”

Spring Clean-Up Week Flyer

The Shepherdstown Water Department has scheduled its annual fire hydrant flushing program to begin  April 11 - 30, 2022. During this time, customers may experience lower than normal pressures, as well as water that is cloudy in appearance. This should correct itself as we progress throughout the system.
