Starting on or around Tuesday, May 23, 2017, the Corporation of Shepherdstown will begin replacing the entire water metering system.  This program is being done due to the age of the existing system and RLDWA (Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act). This process may take approximately 60 business days to complete. As a customer, you will experience a brief loss of service during your meter installation. If there is an issue with your meter replacement the loss of service may be longer. For most customers, your water meter is outside, and all work can be done outside and therefore you will not need to be present. If your meter is inside, you will be contacted so an appointment can be made to gain access to your water meter. All certified water meter installers will be uniformed and carry photo identification. Thanks for your patience. If you have any questions, please call the Shepherdstown Water Department at 304-876-2394.

Thank you.
